5 Leading Institutions, 15+ Countries to Converge in Guwahati, Assam for the 14th Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum 2026

MAHABAHU CLIMATE FORUM

Balipara Foundation has announced the dates for the 14th edition of the Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics™ Forum (EHNF) 2026, scheduled to take place from 30th October to 3rd November 2026 as part of Naturenomics™ Week, a collaborative, multi-institutional platform on sustainability across leading academic institutions in Assam.
Bringing together over 2,000 participants from 15+ countries, EHNF 2026 will convene policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, educators, youth, indigenous communities, sustainability practitioners, and innovators to explore ecological resilience, regenerative economies, and future pathways for Northeast India and the Eastern Himalayas.
As part of Naturenomics™ Week, thematic convenings will be hosted across five partner institutions, each focusing on critical dimensions of sustainability and regional futures. TISS Guwahati will lead discussions on Communities, Culture, and Indigenous Futures, while Cotton University will focus on Forests and Biodiversity. IIT Guwahati will explore Water and Energy Futures, Gauhati University will deliberate on Sustainable Land Futures, and Assam Royal Global University will engage with Green Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
Expanding beyond dialogue-led conferences, EHNF 2026 and Naturenomics™ Week will also feature experiential sustainability exhibits, demonstrations of technological innovations, showcases on circular and green economies, social entrepreneurship initiatives, and collaborative engagements connecting academia, industry, and communities.
Over the past 13 years, EHNF has evolved into a significant regional and international platform at the intersection of ecology, economy, conservation, and community-led development. The forum has helped catalyse cross-sector collaborations, amplify indigenous and local knowledge systems, encourage youth participation in sustainability discourse, and strengthen conversations around nature-positive development pathways for the Eastern Himalayas.
Previous editions of EHNF have brought together leading organisations and institutions including TERI, ICIMOD Nepal, Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, and Royal University of Bhutan, alongside corporates and industry leaders such as HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, JSW Energy, Tata Consumer Products, Tata Power, SEROS, and The Coca-Cola Company, among others.
