The City of Dreams fulfills the dreams of all tech enthusiasts as Apple’s own store in India is a reality now.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is in India to inaugurate the first store in India followed by the inauguration of the second store in Delhi.
The company’s long-awaited first store will be inaugurated on 18 April 2023 that is located in Jio World Drive, Apple Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
Tim Cook is visiting India, and both the Indian government and Apple enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating his arrival. Cook’s visit is a significant step towards reaching the tech giant’s goal of increasing its market share in India.
Cook has met with various well-known leaders while in India, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to discuss how Apple can continue to support India’s manufacturing and technological industries.
Since the company has been actively engaged in the Indian market for some time, Cook’s visit is anticipated to improve the company’s ties to the nation. An important milestone for the corporation was reached on Monday with the opening of Apple’s first retail location in Mumbai.
Store Design:
It is spread over 20,000 sq. ft. in Mumbai, the world’s most energy efficient. Apple BKC features a triangular handcrafted timber ceiling that extends beyond the glass façade to the underside of the exterior canopy, reflecting the unique geometry of the store.
Each tile is made from 408 pieces of timber, forming 31 modules per tile with a total of 1,000 tiles that make up the ceiling.
Apple will open its first store in India in Mumbai on Tuesday, followed by the second one in Delhi on Thursday. CEO Tim Cook is in India to inaugurate the first store in India followed by the inauguration of the second store in Delhi.
There are 100 employees working at the Mumbai location, and they all speak 20 different languages. A 14-meter stainless steel stairway connecting the ground floor and the cantilevered mezzanine welcomes guests, as do seating areas bordered by trees.
Prime Focus of Store:
As tech experts and insiders like to say, “the cosmos is aligning” for Apple’s first retail outlets to open in India. It hopes on bringing the Cupertino-based corporation closer to the market with one of the world’s youngest populations.
The company is aiming to succeed in a market that provides numerous untapped chances for companies like it, given that India’s economy is predicted to have robust development, given that country’s 1.4 billion population, and given that market’s expanding thirst for high-end handsets.
The flagship store, like the other retail locations in prime cities like Dubai and London, will be a hybrid of a store and a learning facility that the company refers to as a “Town Square.”
Like its previous flagship stores, Apple’s stores in India will feature the new Genius Grove, essentially a renovated Genius Bar, as well as a new in-store experience called “Today at Apple.” Apple will also start hosting educational workshops and events, such as classes for app development, music, gaming, and photography.
Apple has a reputation for tightly controlling the sales and distribution of its goods. Over 500 directly run stores are run by the corporation globally. Consumers in India previously had to purchase iPhones, iPads, and Macs from resellers, online, or while travelling abroad.
Establishing a presence in India enables companies like Apple to reach a larger audience of consumers. Given that 65% of Indians are under 35, the global consumer tech industry is becoming more and more dependent on India’s aspiring consumers to fuel growth.
Bollywood welcomes Tim Cook
Celebrities from Bollywood, including Armaan Malik, Mouni Roy, Madhuri Dixit, Suraj Nambiar, and Raveena Tandon, attended the exclusive shop launch event, demonstrating the enthusiasm around Apple’s entry into the Indian market. Due to its relatively expensive prices compared to competing brands, India has been a difficult market for Apple to penetrate. The opening of its retail location in Mumbai is anticipated to change that. However, Apple hopes that by opening the new shop, Indian consumers would have easier access to its products and that it will be able to compete more successfully.
D- Day for Apple Fans
To be first in queue when the store opens, Purav, Madhav, and Karthik, who each hail from a different city, spent the entire night camped out front. Madhav will also be present when the Delhi store opens. Apple is getting ready to open its first retail location in India, which is located in Mumbai, on Tuesday.
