Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master : A Yogi’s Autobiography was first published in the year 2011 and it had instantly caught the imagination of the world as the author recounts his first hand  experience through the lens of a nineteen year old young boy born to a Muslim family who leaves the cool comfort of his home quietly one fine day to head for far-off Himalayas to find a spiritual Guru, responding to an irresistible inner call.

The trials and tribulations faced along the way and his eventual transformation from Mumtaz Ali to Madhukar Nath and finally to Sri M, the spiritual Master during the period of two and half to three years of stay with and under intense tutelage  of his revered Himalayan Guru Sri  Maheswar Nath, make the book unputdownable to readers across the board. 

The book has since been translated to many major Indian languages.

Anjan Sarma who had earlier translated to Assamese the celebrated book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi‘ by Paramhansa Yogananda,  has once again come up with a wonderful translation of the autobiography of Sri M which is sure to captivate and stir up the mind of every Assamese reader..
