Assam Gas Company Marks 65 Years of Growth and Service

Celebrating a significant milestone in its journey, Assam Gas Company Limited commemorated its 65th Foundation Day on March 31 with enthusiasm and a series of well-organized programmes at its premises in Duliajan. The occasion reflected not only the company’s legacy but also its continued commitment to growth, innovation, and service to the people of Assam.
The day began on an energetic note with a marathon run at 5:30 AM, symbolizing vitality and team spirit among employees. Later in the morning, a floral tribute was paid to Zubeen Garg, acknowledging his immense contribution to Assamese culture and society.

The formal proceedings commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and hoisting of the company flag by Chief General Manager Rubul Baruah, in the presence of other senior officials. The programme brought together employees across departments, fostering a sense of unity and pride within the organization.
Adding a cultural touch to the celebration, the women employees of the company presented a melodious group song, setting a vibrant tone for the day. The event was smoothly conducted by Prerana Bordoloi, Assistant Manager of the Public Relations Department, while the welcome address was delivered by Nishinta Kumar Das, President of the Foundation Day Celebration Committee.
A major highlight of the celebration was the release of the company’s official theme song by Managing Director Gokul Chandra Swargiary. The song, composed by noted musician Diganta Bharatiya and rendered by popular singer Dikshu, beautifully captures the spirit and aspirations of the organization.
Another important moment was the unveiling of the company’s half-yearly magazine “Indhan” by Vice Chairman Indra Gogoi. The publication, brought out jointly by the Human Resources & Administration and Public Relations departments, marks the revival of an important platform for sharing ideas, achievements, and developments within the company. In his address, Gogoi appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such efforts would play a crucial role in strengthening the company’s future trajectory.
The morning session concluded with a vote of thanks by Bikram Baruah, President of the employees’ union, acknowledging the collective effort behind the successful celebration of the event.
The celebrations continued throughout the day with various sports and recreational activities, encouraging participation and camaraderie among employees. The programme concluded in the evening with a prize distribution ceremony followed by a cultural performance by invited artists, bringing the curtain down on a memorable day.
As Assam Gas Company Limited completes 65 years, the celebration stands as a testament to its enduring legacy and its forward-looking vision aimed at contributing meaningfully to the energy sector and the socio-economic development of Assam.
