Violence against women and violation of human rights in Afghanistan has led Basira to establish the “Women Managers Network” in cooperation with the number of women in Herat – Afghanistan. In this network, she has done fruitful work for equality and women’s rights.

She has a master’s degree in international law and graduated from Iran’s “Payam Noor University”, and has received short-term trainings in educational institutions in Afghanistan.

In addition, from 2013 to 2021, she had been the director of “Spineh Addy Girls’ School” in Herat; Since 2017, head of New Thinker Youth Civil Organization, Herat branch; Since 2019, Deputy Spokesperson of Herat Civil organizations Network; Since 2019, the head of the litigation committee of the “Women Managers Network”; In 2016, she was the producer of the “Kakh Sokhon” program of Fariad TV channel; In 2019 and 2020, a member of the Consultative Loy Jirga for the peace of Afghanistan; In 2020, she was a founding member of the Afghan Women’s Movement, and her activities are still ongoing.

Along with management, Mrs. Taheri is a good friend and guide to female students in Afghanistan; she always encouraged and financially supported families to let their daughters to continue their education.

She was able to build a school building for female students in the city of Herat with the cooperation of other women.

She also won the British Council International Award in 2017 and 2020.

She is a brave and courageous woman. In addition to her other human rights activities; she has launched many street campaigns for women to achieve their rights.

She has written several articles about the problems and life of Afghan women and has done a research on positive discrimination in international law.

Currently, she lives in Italy, where besides learning the Italian language, she is engaged in online education for female students in Afghanistan, and because of the current situation of women in her country she continues to fight remotely with the cooperation of the women inside Afghanistan.

She is a positive and independent person. She likes to be a teacher in addition to advocating for women’s rights.
