Taliban prohibited girls from attending secondary schools since KBL collapsed into their hands. Millions of girls were stripped of such a fundamental basic human right. Please stand with Afghan women in demanding their basic human rights, we want education.

Sayar Sirat, an Afghan Special Forces member was kidnapped, tortured & killed by the Taliban yesterday. His hands and legs were amputated in the prison. Prisons in Afghanistan have been transformed into slaughterhouses. Prisoners are being subjected to electric shocks, amputation of limbs such as hands, feet, genitalia & dozens other horrible tortures. Does this happen in any jail, in any part of the world? Ismail Mashal, a university professor from Kabul, who started advocating for women and girls’ education, by distributing books to people in the city, was arrested by the Taliban today. One of his colleagues said, that he was beaten up before he was detained. It’s not surprising because the answer to speaking the truth has always been bullets and torture in the Taliban rule.

Mashal, a Kabul University professor burnt his educational documents and stopped teaching after Taliban banned girl’s education. Now he is giving away 21000 books to people in order study with holding a tree that symbolize the names of educational subjects. “Prof Mashal says he will protest against the ban on women’s education even if it means his death. The Taliban-led Ministry of Public Health has introduced a new dress code for female doctors, mandating full coverage of their bodies and the use of face masks while on the job. They have also warned those who does not comply with this order. Afghanistan has turned into a prison for women in the 21st century. Why the world is silent on Afghanistan and its women?

This is AFG under Taliban rule and angry people are tearing the flag of Sweden. This is while 80% of Afghan people live below the poverty line and their daughters do not have the right to education, but no one protests.

The Taliban have reportedly told female health workers in kandahar province that they are NOT ALLOWED to go to work without a male guardian/relative (mahram). Every day is a bad day for women of Afghanistan. Taliban are pushing Afghanistan backward. They are erasing half the population from public spaces and there are no consequences and no accountability.

The year 2022 brought nothing but pain, suffering, and displacement.
