One of the hardest parts of being an Afghan for the past 11 months has been seeing entitled white politicians making friends with terrorists and posing in photos with them, while they pretend they are doing good for Afghanistan and know what is best for us.

Girls are banned from schools, activists, journalists and members of former ANDSF are systematically tortured and targeted, the Taliban is responsible for atrocities against civilians.

Their burqa decree DOES NOT represent Islam.
The forceful order of the burqa or veil is a clear symbol of oppression and misogyny, not religion. It should be a choice.
This is an example of their twisted draconian ideologies stemming from a cultural desire for male dominance.
“Islam‘ itself means peace, and within its teachings it promotes peace and love.
Unfortunately, it has been tainted by individuals that choose to justify their cruelty using the name of Islam. Despite the number of times they have given their reassurance claiming they respect women’s rights, millions of women and girls are exposed to systematic gender based discrimination.
While they increase their repression, they show no interest in tackling the current humanitarian crisis catastrophe.

Local sources in Nangarhar province report that Taliban officials severely beat up a female journalist, Selgai Ehsas, on Friday. The Taliban officials also threatened her and asked her to quit her job. Sources said that the Taliban confiscated her smartphone.
