Nearly 100 members of the Afghan Diaspora, representing more than 70 organizations, including Afghan-Norwegian Women for Change gathered in Brussels on 15-16 May for a European conference entitled “Diaspora Action for Afghanistan”.
We call on the EU and its Member States to:
– Step up humanitarian aid on the ground!
– Prioritize women’s rights and push back on unacceptable restrictions on Afghan women’s access to education & freedom of movement!
– Engage strategically with de facto authorities to ensure respect for the fundamental rights of all Afghans.
– Protect Afghan asylum seekers and provide safe and legal channels for protection and integration.
