Disputatio: Unleash the Orator in You, the debating Society of Handique girls’ college Has completed its 6 years journey on 8th march 2023.

On this occasion, Disputatio has celebrated its 6th Foundation day on 11th March, 2023.

For the very first time, Disputatio has organised its 1st “Rajabala Das Memorial Annual Lecture” to celebrate the prized legacy of the pioneer of women’s education in Assam, Late Rajabala Das.

The guest lecturer for the event was Dr. Sheila Bora who prepared a lecture on the topic “Kanaklata Barua: The story of Axomor Birbala”.

The event started with the college anthem sung by the students. This followed by the lamp lighting ceremony by Dr. Sheila Bora, Dr. Debajit Kumar Das. Rajabala Das’s family, Principal Rajib Kumar Das, Vice Principal Dhirendra Mohan Das, Dr. Pori Hiloidari, Dr. Archana Sarmah.

The welcome address presented by the Principal, which followed by a special yet inspirational speech by the Founder President of Disputatio and Former Debate and Symposium Secretary of Handique Girls’ College (2016-17), Manaswini Panda.

Hiyashree Pathak, an active member of the society provided a brief history of Disputatio and alongwith the events organised by the society.

Jayahree Neog, one of the executive members of Disputatio, also narrated a biography of Late Rajabala Das. The event then went forward to inaugurate the 4th edition of Disputatio’s e-magazine ‘SROTASWINI’ by Dr. Sheila Bora and a glimpse of the entire magazine was also projected as well to the audience.

The event successfully held in the presence of Former Principal of Handique Girls’ College Dr. Utpal Dutta, the family members of Rajabala Das and Parents of Srotaswini Choudhary. At the end, the foundation day concluded with the State Anthem.

The whole event successfully organised by the current executive team of Disputatio.
