We the All Assam Manipuri Students’ Union express our deepest condolences over the passing away of Ema Ingudam (Ongbi) Sanathoi, the former President of the All Assam Manipuri Meira Paibi Lup (AAMMPAL).

Ema Sanathoi passed away on 2nd June, 2025, at the age of 77, at her residence in Joypur Pt. II, Cachar,Assam.

Ema Sanathoi dedicated her life to the welfare of the Meetei society and culture.

She was guiding light for the Meetei community not only in Assam, but also for the Meeteis inhabiting in Manipur, Tripura and other regions.

Ema Sanathoi worked tirelessly for the betterment of the Meetei community, for which she was well regarded, and acquired a renowned position as one of the Meeteis’ uniting leaders throughout states.

Ema Sanathoi was a true guardian of the Meetei identity and culture, and we the AAMSU acknowledge her contributions as a significant chapter in the history of Meetei society.

The absence of Ema Sanathoi will be deeply felt and she will be remembered for her life-long service and dedication.
