Being a fashion enthusiast from the very early days of my childhood, I grew up watching Fashion shows, beauty pageant events, MTV’s India next top model and Supermodel of the year. I never stopped myself from posing in front of mirrors or cameras. Though I keep all the updates of the latest fashion, I follow my own trend. I prefer not sticking to a one particular way. Ramp walk was something that I found myself really attracted to and hence, I wanted to be a part of it. Lack of opportunities and fashion events in school, I didn’t get to explore the very thing.
Loads of events, fashions shows and competitions came up. How could I not be a part of the same. This passion led me to participate to the following events. As I belonged from Salt lake Campus being in an Engineering department, it was little difficult to cope with the practice sessions. I was in third year (when I first participated in the fashion show) and I was quite occupied academically. I let those not bother me. I used to complete my assignments, lab reports before the deadline which made me easier to skip few classes and labs. I remember I traveled all the way from the Salt lake campus to Jadavpur campus for the practice in ‘Hathibaranda. I guess this is the one amongst many memories that I would like to remember. Besides, my fellow mates were quite cooperating and friendly. Evening gossips and chattering was real fun. Breaks, Dress and props discussion was way lengthier.
Coming to the topic of fashion again, I consider fashion an art. No one is abide by the rules in the concept of fashion.
You are your own fashion instructor. Try to be an unique creature with your way of dressing instead of following trends. The whole responsibility of carrying grace and being comfortable, all depends on you. Well, I got work cut out for me to strike gold and goals to achieve. But somewhere in the corner of my head I look myself walking on the ramp and getting to be the showstopper and model of the year.
Fashion – Its isn’t about the brand, its about the attitude and style.
