Hazaras
Sonia Ahmadi
Hazaras are one of the progressive ethnic groups in Afghanistan who have been unfortunately subjugated and subjected to persecution, systematic discrimination, forced displacement, and brutal genocide throughout the history of Afghanistan.
Sadly, the targeted attacks on our Hazara people continue. Several girls’ schools, education centers, maternity clinics, sports centers, and social gatherings have been attacked in the Hazara-populated area of West Kabul in the past year.
UNAMA reports that deliberated attacks on the young generation of our Hazara compatriots have lately escalated.
So far this year, over 700 Hazaras have been killed in 14 attacks.
As a human rights activist & a fellow citizen, I stand in solidarity with my Hazara people, and urge the international community and relevant authorities to stop the Hazara genocide and hold those involved in these atrocities accountable for their heinous actions!
