Lovely Professional University (LPU) Opens Permanent Outreach Centre In Guwahati

Guwahati, July 4, 2025: Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab, inaugurated a permanent outreach centre in Guwahati at Ambari, opposite Rabindra Bhawan, to serve thousands of Northeast students.

Spanning 1,200 square feet, the centre provides counselling, entrance test facilitation, and free psychoanalytic sessions for students from Class VIII onwards to support career planning based on their strengths and interests.

The inauguration ceremony of the Guwahati centre was graced by several esteemed guests, including Anjan Sarma, Founder Editor -Mahabahu; Balendra Kr. Das, Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM); Rituraj Phukan, environmental writer, TEDx speaker and climate activist; and Prabir Kr. Das, Chairman, Assam Inland Water Transport Regulatory Authority. Their presence added great value and encouragement to the occasion.

“Each year, more than 1,000 students from the Northeast states are enrolled in Lovely Professional University across various disciplines such as Engineering, Agriculture, and more,” said Mr. Bhuvan Sareen.

Also, Khirod Kumar Saikia, Territory Head of Lovely Professional University, stated that students from Northeast India pursued a wide range of courses at LPU, benefiting not only from world-class academics but also from a vibrant community of alumni and peers from the region, which ensured they always felt at home.

LPU, graded A++ (3.68/4) by NAAC with UGC ‘Category-1’ autonomy, offers over 150 programmes and awarded scholarships worth over Rs 100 crore last year.

Ranked among the Top 10 Indian universities in THE World University Rankings and in the Global Top 50 of THE Impact Rankings 2025, LPU ensures a vibrant community for Northeast students, as noted by Khirod Kumar Saikia.

Over 1,000 Northeast students enroll annually at LPU across disciplines like Engineering, Agriculture, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Journalism, etc. The Guwahati centre is now open for prospective students and parents to explore LPU’s offerings and seek personalised guidance.
