Description

Author: UDDIPANA GOSWAMI & ABANTEE DUTTA

An edited volume to explore whether communities’ engagement with existing conflicts can facilitate wider coalitions that generate Community driven processes towards conflict transformation. The Starting point of this volume was the empirical evidence gathered in process of collating the High Powered Committee report constituted by the Government of India on the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord

The volume seeks to redefine the current top-down approaches to peacemaking in Assam. Instead, it advocates, through the voices of peace scholars and practitioners, for the creation of a safe space for dialogue between communities in conflict, so that they can self-reflexively and organically design new approaches to ushering in peace in a society transformed by intractable conflict.
