Ruba Ayyash is a Palestinian journalist, writer, and thinker whose work bridges depth, critique, and a deeply human lens.

With a background in sociology and multimedia journalism, Ayyash crafts narratives that challenge assumptions, center marginalized voices, and explore the complex intersections of identity, power, and belonging.

She currently works at Sky News Arabia as a multimedia journalist, producing news content and features that blend clarity with insight.

In parallel, she contributes analytical and opinion articles to Al-Arab Newspaper, where her writing often addresses political transformations, gender dynamics, and the sociocultural shifts in the Middle East and beyond.

Ayyash holds a BA in Journalism and Sociology from Birzeit University, and a Master’s in Journalism and New Media from the Jordan Media Institute. Her academic grounding informs a storytelling style that is both analytical and empathetic, shaped by a belief in the power of narrative to provoke thought and push for justice.

Her journey began in Palestine, where she engaged in community-centered journalism and civic initiatives. Over the years, she has worked across digital, radio, and television platforms, gaining recognition for her ability to distill complexity into meaningful narratives.

In her published pieces—particularly on Al-Arab and platforms like Mahabahu—Ayyash addresses topics ranging from the psychological cost of conflict to the symbolic language of resistance. Her voice is marked by intellectual clarity and a refusal to simplify.

Beyond her professional work, Ayyash has volunteered with cultural and human rights organizations including The Freedom Theatre, Sharek Youth Forum, and Panorama for Human Rights. These experiences further shape her belief that storytelling is not just a craft, but a form of advocacy.

Ayyash stands out not for seeking visibility, but for insisting on depth. Her work doesn’t aim to decorate the surface—it seeks to understand, dissect, and ultimately reclaim the narrative.
