The Taliban have a very dark idea about Afghan women!

Ms. Farkish, 45, a teacher of a girl’s school, lives with her husband, Said, her daughter Aisha,18, and her two sons, who are ten years old, in Kabul.

She is Tajik and has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and has been teaching mathematics subjects to girls in high school for twenty years; she says: The past year is considered a challenging year for everyone, especially Afghan women and girls.

Since last year, high schools have been closed; I go to school to sign attendance sheets, that’s all!

The living conditions of the people before the Taliban era are different from the current conditions, many changes have occurred, of course, adverse changes, and all people, especially women and girls, are under pressure.

The girls’ schools are closed since the collapse of Kabul, and a decisive blow has been inflicted upon which the girls; they are all depressed and anxious, they have no hope for the future, and they are very disappointed.

“The taken over by the Taliban has caused my daughter to not go to school and continue her studies, and she is entirely housebound; she is under a lot of pressure from a mental point of view, and she is utterly disappointed in her life and has no hope for her future.”

We know many civil activists from the female class who have been threatened or killed. One of my sisters is a women’s rights activist. The Taliban tried to kidnap her daughter, but they failed. Also, my elder sister is an employee of one of the government offices. The Taliban beat his son and broke his nose; life has become challenging in Afghanistan; all people live in fear.

Our current life is agitated; my daughter was a student in grade 12 when the Taliban took over Kabul. She had many dreams for her future, she wanted to join the university after graduating from school, but unfortunately, she is very disappointed now and depressed in the corner of the house.

Psychologically, none of us is in good condition; what is the motivation for a better tomorrow? We do not see anything!

The Taliban have a very dark idea about Afghan women; they think we are weak and incapable and do not want us to be active and included in society. While women make up half of the community and in a society where women do not play a role, that society is backward and miserable in every way; women hate the Taliban government and ask the international community not to recognize them.

The taken over by the Taliban has caused my daughter to not go to school and continue her studies, and she is entirely housebound; she is under a lot of pressure from a mental point of view, and she is utterly disappointed in her life and has no hope for her future.

“The powerful countries should listen to the Afghan women and assist them in obtaining women’s rights and being the voice of Afghan women.”

Like my daughter, thousands of girls in this country left the country with no destiny; when the gates of schools closed for them, all their dreams were destroyed!

Considering the current situation, the future of Afghanistan looks pretty dark and unclear; maybe our country will become a haven for all terrorist groups and a severe threat to the entire world!

Who knows! We want all the people of the world to know about the situation of Afghan women and girls and to be aware of the oppression done to the defenseless people of Afghanistan in different ways; we want the whole world to support Afghanistan and its people, not the terrorists!

The powerful countries should listen to the Afghan women and assist them in obtaining women’s rights and being the voice of Afghan women.

The right to education and work must be return to women; the right to participate in every field of life also must be given to the women!
