Iryna Kravtsovafrom Ukraine
Dear readers of Mahabahu, this is Misha.
Misha is an 8 year old boy.
He was born in 2014. When the war started this year in March, his mother passed away. Only the father remained with the three kids.
And then this family got trapped under the ruins in the cellar after Ruzzists attacks.
Misha’s father took a shovel and dug a passage into another cellar, and doing so he rescued his family.
When the boy was asked what he is dreaming about, he answered :
– “To resurrect my mom.”
– “And what else?”
He thought and answered:
– “…and nothing more is needed.”
This story touched me deeply. But how many other Mishas are in Ukraine today?
How many children lost one or both of their parents?
“Do you know what our kids want? They don’t want toys, they don’t chocolate but the only thing they don’t want is BREAD! A lot, a lot of bread!”
And what are the sincere wishes of our Ukrainian kids?
To have their mom and dad alive!
Recently I watched a video from Mariupol. A woman was crying when she described the situation in a ruined and blockaded city. She said “Do you know what our kids want? They don’t want toys, they don’t want chocolate but the only thing they want is BREAD! A lot, a lot of bread!”
I see lot of posts on “Why we should support Ukraine? They don’t fight for our democracy. It’s their business. Ukraine has no chances to win as it’s too small compared to Russia”.
Ok, good, everyone has a right to say their word. But look in the Misha’s eyes, isn’t your support worth his life and life of his family?
Can you say looking at him that his life costs nothing? Can you say that his life is rubbish and can be thrown away? If you say “yes” to above questions, well, I feel sorry then…for you… But if you say that he and the rest of Ukrainian children deserve to be happy just like your kids, then you have true human feelings and your support matters!
And this is only one of “why” you have to support Ukraine. But this post is not about “why” but about Misha….
