Udyam 2023 begins at Duliajan

With an aim to address the various challenges faced by MSME sector and to encourage the entrepreneurship in the state Udyam -2023 inaugurated today at the OIL Bihutoli premises, Duliajan.
Union Cabinet Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Ministry of AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal formally inaugurated the the UDYAM – 2023 under which exhibition, seminar and workshops will be organized from Feb 25 to March 1 with a 5 day schedule.
Organized by the Department of Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises, Government of Assam, the inauguration ceremony of Udyam was graced by Minister of Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprises and Cultural Affairs, Bimal Bora, Minister for Rural Development, Food, Cvil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Ranjeet Kumar Das, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameswar Teli, Duliajan MLA Terash Guwalla, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Sonowal, APL Chairman Bikul Deka, APL Vice Chairman Hemanta Gogoi, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd, Chairman Rituparna Baruah, AGCL Vice Chairman Indra Gogoi, OIL RCE Prasanta Borkakoty, AGCL MD Gokul Chandra Swargiary, Industries and Commerce Department Secretary, Lakshmanan S, Dibrugarh DC Biswajit Pegu as guests.
The program was formally started by lighting the lamps ceremony by Sarbananda Sonowal. In his speech delivered on the occasion Sarbananda Sonowal Said, “I personally thanked CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora for taking initiative to strengthen the entrepreneurship environment in the state.”

This year’s budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman has clearly sketched the idea of the nation for 25 years. The roadmap to achieve the milestone of a great nation by 2047 when the country will be celebrating the 100th year anniversary of Independence, foundation stone has been formally began from this year’s budget. – Repeating central government’s aim to achieve economic development by 2047, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal further said.
We need to understand the innumerable possibilities lies in Assam. We need to add scientific innovation, technological approach, skill, information altogether to maintain our pace in the fast changing entrepreneurial journey with the rest of the world.
Bimal Bora in inaugural speech said, In the last one month we have organized 9 such programmes through out the state to encourage and build a healthy environment of entrepreneurship in the state. We are aiming to give our entrepreneurs a healthy market to sell their products.
Stating the objectives of Udyam, Bimal Bora further said, we are concentrating on the two Chief objectives. To promote and build the idea of entrepreneurship in the state we are concentrating on conducting workshops and organising seminars through Udyam.
‘The other states already have an environment of business. But we are still lacking behind in this regard’, Bora said.
‘In the last 9 Udyam programme a total of 4732 individuals trained to become entrepreneurs’- he further said.
Already an entrepreneur started their enterprises to make biscuits from rice. Similarly a lady entrepreneur has done business of 1 crore turnover by bee keeping. We need to add value to our business and ideas to build a successful business. – Stating different successful business initiatives of individuals throughout the state-Bimal Bora said.
We are aiming to train the youth power in thousands within 2023 through Udyam– Bora said.
Before the formal meeting of Udyam, a series of inaugural ceremony organized at the Vanue. Bilkul Deka, Chairman, APL inaugurated the APL exhibition Mart.
Hindustan Unilever exhibition centre was inaugurated APL Vice Chairman Hemanta Gogoi. The OIL exhibition was inugurated by Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Rameshwar Teli. The AGCL exhibition was inaugurated by Duliajan MLA Terosh Guwala. On this occasion, the welcome speech was delivered by Dibrugarh DC Biswajit Pegu. Duliajan MLA Terash Guwalla delivered the vote of thanks.
