Today is 5th of June. Today is the World Environment Day.
It’s held annually on 5 June since 1973, World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. This year it is hosted by Sweden.
From last few days I heard that many conscious people across the Globe talking – ‘Time is running out, and nature is in emergency mode. To keep global warming below 1.5°C this century, we must halve annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Without action, exposure to air pollution beyond safe guidelines will increase by 50 per cent within the decade and plastic waste flowing into aquatic ecosystems will nearly triple by 2040.’
I heard, ‘We need urgent action to address these pressing issues, making “Only One Earth” and its focus on living sustainably in harmony with nature, as pertinent as ever’.
It’s good, really good. Because we also know that we have-
“Only one Earth
In the universe are billions of galaxies,
In our galaxy are billions of planets,
But there is #OnlyOneEarth.
Let’s take care of it.“
But,
The irony and tragedy is there were explosions in Kyiv this morning (around 6 a.m.).
I can’t show the exact location, I can only name Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.
The missiles were fired from the territory of Belarus.
There were no fatalities as a result of the rocket attacks, one person was hospitalized.
The strikes in Kyiv were carried out against the facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Now, what to say from Ukraine on this World Environment Day!!
