One of the most significant attributes of Modern day life is its speed. From dawn till bed time ,most people are in a hurry to stay abreast and not to fall behind( in the race of life ?). Apart from the physical demand of time, the mind Itself has been set to a clock which runs faster than even the actual time piece ! It appeared that the brake was in nobody’s hand to slow down the speed though all were beginning to pay a huge toll both physically and mentally. Yet, life was brought to a screeching halt by the Nation wide lockdown on 25th March,2020. Being the slave of habits, the mind became numb to this changed scenario and started conjuring up doomsday theories preparing the ground for depression to set in.
But one man among us had a different idea as how best to utilize the time and keep us all positively engaged. He coined the idea of posting all the eighteen chapters of Bhagavat Gita in instalments in Assamese in the WhatsApp group. So it all began ! With painstaking dedication, he single handedly translated, typed and posted every morning an instalment of The Gita , the last one coinciding with the last day of first 40 days of lockdown !
He has been ingenious in the sense that while keeping the contents of the Gita pure, he took help of current or daily affairs to hit home not only the subject matter but also to retain the one pointed attention of the readers.
To all of us it became a routine to wait for the morning post to begin the day, just like waiting for the morning newspaper and were saddened when the last chapter was posted.
The man deserves our sincere thanks who has already won our hearts coming up with this novel idea and for doing all the hard work to turn the idea into a reality.
