55th ENGINEERS’ DAY

To commemorate the birth anniversary of the country ‘s greatest engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya the Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Upper Assam Local Centre, Namrup in Collaboration with Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dibrugarh University celebrated the 55thEngineers’ Day at the Rangghar Auditorium and Conference hall of Dibrugarh University on September 15.
The function was started with lighting the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Followed by University Anthem sang by Participants of Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering ( DUIET ) and then the IEI Anthem displayed in the web video. Sasanka Pratim Deka, FIE, Chairman, Upper Assam Local Centre of IEI welcomed all the gathering & offered his respect to Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarya and best wishes to all members for the 55th Engineers’ Day .
Jiten Hazarika, Vice-chancellor Dibrugarh University delivered his speech as Chief Guest on this auspicious day.
Prasanta Borkakoty, RCE Oil India Limited Duliajan delivered his speech as Guest of Honour, Dibakar Bhattacharjee, FIE Past Chairman IEI UALC and Bhairab Bhuyan,FIE CGM (Inst.) Oil India Ltd., delivered their speech as Invited guest.
A documentary video on life and achievement of Bharat Ratna Sir. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was presented by Debajeet Sarma, AMIE, Honorary Secretary, IEI, Upper Assam Local Centre.
On this ocassion Innovation Video was displayed by the DUIET Student followed by a performance done by the DUIET Student.
Key note speaker Dr.Mukul Chandra Bora, Director Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Dibrugarh delivered key note address about “Smart Engineering for a Better World”.
The programme ended with vote thanks by Debajeet Sarma, AMIE and Honorary Secretary of Upper Assam Local Centre.
