The two-day 2nd Annual Conference of the North East Indigenous People’s Forum hosted by Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum at North East Zone Cultural Center, Diphupar, Chumukedima concluded today with the formation of the new Executive Body with a resolution entitled ‘Diphupar Declaration‘.
The new Executive Body of North East Indigenous People’s Forum constitute Anup Chetia as Chairman, Dr. Lima Jamir and Tage Lapung as Vice-Chairmen, N Ibungochoubi as General Secretary.
Following the deliberations from the delegates, resource persons, scholars, intellectuals and representatives of various organizations, the conference resolved to present a declaration to the people of the region.
The 2nd Annual Conference of the North East Indigenous People’s Forum (NEIPF) hosted by Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) held at Diphupar, Chumukedima, Nagaland present to the people of the north eastern states the declaration unanimously resolved on 30th April, 2022 entitled ‘DIPHUPAR DECLARATION‘
Article 1. The North East Indigenous People’s Forum will continuously thrive for the creation of a conducive atmosphere for the indigenous peoples of the North East States for sharing common interest and issues.
Article 2. The North East Indigenous People’s Forum will make an endeavour in the pursuit of preserving indigenous traditional values and cultural practices.
Article 3. The North East Indigenous People’s Forum demands assurance for ensuring and making the indigenous people a stakeholder in every decision concerning the people and the land.
Article 4. The North East Indigenous People’s Forum draws the attention of the North East States to address the inter state boundaries with utmost care. The Forum urges to give preference to the indigenous peoples in the settlement.
