One Year of Manipur Violence: Continues…
KAKALI DAS
230+ dead
1,500+ injured
22+ missing
60,000+ displaced
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence goes on…
ONE YEAR since ethnic conflict in Manipur started on 3 May, 2023. Wounds yet to heal, justice yet to be delivered.
On 3 May, 2024, tribal communities in Churachandpur observed ‘Kuki-Zo Awakening Day’, while the Meitei community observed ‘365 days of Chin-Kuki Narco Terrorist Aggression’ in Imphal.
“When ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur exactly a year ago, little did we know that the hill state was about to descend into a civil war fueled by its ‘Double Engine Sarkar”. While PM Modi has completely ignored the violence for a year now, CM Biren Singh acted like a common troll, inflaming the situation further instead of cooling it down. The killings have not stopped, relief camps are still crammed with over 50,000 people. More than 2,000 arms seized from security establishments were recovered. 4,000 continue to remain in civilian hands.”
Following the High Court’s recommendation to grant the protected ‘Scheduled Tribe’ (ST) status to the Meiteis, a predominantly Hindu group residing in the Imphal Valley region, the state capital, violence erupted in Manipur. Protests from Kuki and other tribal communities opposing the Meitei community’s demand for Scheduled Tribe status resulted in counter-protests, leading to violence, loss of life, and mass displacement.
The conflict in Manipur revolves around the land rights of tribal peasants, with the ruling BJP government in both the central and state assembly of Manipur advocating for valley-based landowning groups to buy forest lands in the hills. This has sparked violence between the Kuki-Zo, Naga peasantry, and Meitei tribal communities.

Despite people protesting and demanding his resignation, CM Biren Singh shamelessly holds on to his chair, with no action being taken against him or any other minister until this day.
Besides, do you remember how the women in Manipur were paraded naked on the streets amidst the violence in 2023?
The CBI investigation into the assault of these Manipuri women has uncovered shocking revelations. According to reports, the women, fleeing from violence, managed to reach a police car, where they sat and begged the police to drive them away.
The policemen refused to start the car, claiming they had no keys. As the mob approached, the cops abandoned the vehicle, effectively surrendering the victims to the mob. Subsequently, the women were forcibly dragged out of the car by the mob.
And, our PM Modi said, “Timely intervention by Centre saved Manipur.” (slow claps)
Apparently, this was the same kind of ‘timely intervention’ that our Modi-ji showed during 2002 Gujarat riot too.
In April 2024, CM Biren Singh finally commented on the leaked video of those naked women, which surfaced in June 2023, stating that the video was deliberately made viral by the Congress to “insult” PM Narendra Modi. He added that any ‘small issue’ was instigated to escalate it into violence.
The fact that the women were assaulted doesn’t bother him, rather, their assault was leaked is what miffs him.
SUCH A SHAMELESS COWARD!
Also, where is Ms. Smriti Irani, our Minister of Women and Child Development? A Missing Persons report should be filed for her, stating how our beloved minister is nowhere to be found since 2019. Kindly help us in finding her. Courtesy – Hathras, Unnau, Manipur and counting…
Now, let’s focus on our Supreme Leader!
For those wondering about our honorable PM Modi’s whereabouts, where our supreme leader has been busy, it’s worth noting that he has been occupied with global engagements, including snorkeling in Lakshadweep, inaugurating Ram Mandir, educating how one religion is superior than the other, honoring YouTube and Instagram influencers for their significant contributions, engaging with gamers through podcasts, and, in fact, actively working to resolve conflicts such as the Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Palestine wars, even achieving success in one. (eyes roll)
The list goes on and on…
Such a hard-working leader! Long live our PM!
Although, our PM Modi hasn’t visited Manipur yet, the rest of the world is indeed fortunate and blessed to experience the presence of our honorable, God-like, Supreme Leader.
According to a report by the BBC in 2023, amid the ongoing violence in Manipur, PM Modi embarked on 162 official and non-official visits to various states in the country. During this period of turmoil in Manipur, he also conducted 14 official visits abroad. This occurred while Manipur was engulfed in violence, resulting in the deaths of more than 230 individuals and rendering over 60,000 people homeless.
When the violence erupted in Manipur, PM Modi was occupied with campaigning for assembly elections in Karnataka, having visited the state 8 times in the past year. In February-March of this year, he toured the states of Assam, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh in the North-East, but did not include Manipur in his itinerary.
Alongside his domestic visits, PM Modi has embarked on 14 international trips since May 2023, including a visit to inaugurate a Hindu temple in the UAE.
So, a Huge Congratulations to our PM Narendra Modi-ji for being awarded for the title of “Best Travel Influencer in the World”.
To conclude: Before you step out to vote, remember Manipur, Hathras, Unnau, if not more.
