Symbols of Putin‘s Reich
IRINA MIROCHNIK
The letter “Z” denoted the zones of destruction in the concentration camps of the Third Reich.
In Sachsenhausen, “Stazion Z” was created for the destruction of Soviet prisoners of war in 1941, having rebuilt former repair shops for it.
There they put ovens (they are the ones in the photo) for baking bread and converted them into crematoria.
The zone was named “Z” because it is the last letter in the German alphabet.
The prisoners entered the concentration camp through tower “A” (the first letter of the alphabet), and there was only one way out for them – through the gas chamber and the crematorium.
That’s called “Z”.
Over the years of its existence, more than 100,000 people were killed in this concentration camp.
As for the symbol “V“. Only the oldest members of the SS were allowed to wear this symbol.
The symbol was worn on the right sleeve of the party shirt, was either black or silver.
The right to wear the chevron of the “old fighter” was considered a high honor, since it was a visible evidence of loyalty to the ideas of National Socialism even in the days before the NSDAP came to power.
