What is ‘competition’? It is a situation where one tries to be more successful than the rest and win in whatever and wherever they participate or engage. A competition is very necessary to boost, encourage, motivate, and determine oneself along with others. The world without this situation would not have been able to call in developments or the changes in each and every aspect present on the planet. Do you think people are defining the term ‘competition’ in a genuine way these days? In the name of competition, do you think people are bringing in changes that are helpful to them and society?
‘To compete’ is human nature. Let us see certain situations which people created in society in the name of competition. Trust me, these are really very funny!!! Hahaha…
- Now a days we see if someone buys a new car, there are some people in the society who try to beat them by buying a new car and a little expensive than that one, even if they have one or two or more than that in their garage.
- We see if someone builds a new house, the other member gets extremely jealous and try hard to add more storeys to its building, though it is not required for them, and make it the taller one.
- We witness if someone is getting into shape and they are asked about the tips or the secrets to it, these people hesitate to share their diet routine or the exercise tips, because they think the others would be into shape. They fear people would become more beautiful or handsome and fit than they are! The society would praise them more.
- We could hear from our friends or neighbours, some people shamelessly keep on buttering their boss or manager heads in an organisation for their promotion purpose. They play dirty politics within its department by backstabbing about the other colleagues, confusing the other employees with false information, mislead them and finally stand as one smart in front of the higher authority, takes the credit for the completion of most of the official tasks or project.
- This one is ultimate! When there are celebrations in a society, especially weddings, people start to compete by wearing the most expensive jewellery or clothes by hook or by crook. They always want to grab the limelight.
Life is all about competition, right from the struggle of the sperms to enter into the egg to one grows up and they grow old till death. A competition should be something to improve yourself and not destroy others or show off. A competition should be something to carry you along with the rest of the members of the society in the right direction. A competition should be something which leads you to become a better person than before and not to misguide, mislead or misbehave others. In short, competition should be something which refers to trying hard to accept your mistakes and try hard not and never to repeat, remaking of yourself, refreshing yourself and growing as the one better than the previous position or state, who could lead oneself and the society towards the path of growth and development. People should know that competing with someone, in particular, might be easy. But it should not be taken into one’s account that they are the only winners. They should not forget that there are some people in society who are much more capable than them.
Someone rightly said,” Your competition isn’t other people. Your competition is your procrastination, your ego, the unhealthy food you are consuming, the knowledge you neglect, the negative behaviour you are nurturing and your lack of creativity, compete against that.”
