“Little did they know, that “his” ego and obsession,
Were the only factors, worthy of such fame.”
OBSESSION
The first day of college, that fine morning,
She wanted to look her best.
Not exactly a fashion show on her mind
But she dressed-up to stand out from the rest.
The open gates, the gazing eyes,
She managed a style in her gait.
From the corner of the canteen, he observed,
“Of look, this one is my new bait!”
He approached her, talked to her
Unaware, she behaved like her sweet self.
Her charms were now the new sensation,
She mesmerized the entire college itself.
More the competition, more the excitement
He was determined to get closer.
Behaving like a friend, gaining her trust,
He asked her out for a breezer.
Comfortable yet hesitant, she politely denied
The beautiful lady wasn’t aware of his intentions.
A denial, was what waged a war against his ego,
Now he “had to” get her, no matter the repercussions.
He brought some flowers and chocolate,
Behaved like a complete gentleman
A sweet smile he wore, with his formal attire,
But in his mind, paradoxical thoughts ran.
Knocked on her door, with his monstrous intentions,
She opened with a welcoming smile
She asked him to make himself at home
And oh, his anxiety began to pile!
In her excitement, she ran inside to get something,
Came back, with some snacks and a picture
With that, she showed him the ring on her finger
His blood sprinted, and his nerves began to rupture.
“This dame is mine”, he thought,
“How can she even think of anyone else?
Kept rejecting me all this time,
Now how can I let her hear the wedding bells?”
He took her by force and malice
Ripped her soul, along with her clothes
Wounded and shredded, she lay on the floor
The only thing that covered her, were the moths.
Her blood gushing out uncontrollably,
Even breathing properly seemed humungous.
A simple happy life, she was looking forward to
And now all of a sudden, this pain seemed so tremendous.
What did she do? What was her fault?
She now questioned her entire existence.
With a piece of glass, she ended her life
For she was unable to accept this menace.
Her life, her dreams, all gone; lost into eternity,
And yet, the society had her to blame.
Little did they know, that “his” ego and obsession,
Were the only factors, worthy of such fame.
