Road to the White House: Same Result, Same Future!
Amira Faisal

As the 2024 U.S. presidential election approaches, anticipation and speculation are running high.
With incumbent President Joe Biden seeking re-election and former President Donald Trump once again throwing his hat into the ring, the stage is set for a contentious and closely watched battle for the White House.
Election Dynamics:
The 2020 U.S. presidential election captivated the world’s attention, with Biden and Trump offering starkly different visions for the nation’s future.
Main steps of Biden’s policy
Joe Biden assumed the presidency of the United States armed with a rich history of experience in foreign policy. Interested in foreign policy since his days as a senator for Delaware in the early 1970s, he later chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for many years. As vice president under Barack Obama, Biden handled important foreign policy issues such as China, Iraq, and Ukraine on behalf of his president.
This track record starkly contrasts with that of former President Donald Trump, who was not a career politician but entered politics from the world of business and finance. Biden’s approach diverges from Trump’s, particularly in foreign policy, where Biden emphasized cooperation and understanding with traditional allies, in contrast to Trump’s disruptive tendencies.
foreign policy and failure
President Biden encountered numerous foreign affairs challenges following the unpredictable policy shifts of the Trump administration. His goal was to restore stability to US foreign policy by re-engaging with treaties and alliances that had been neglected by the previous administration.
Biden’s presidency faced similar challenges to Trump’s, particularly concerning China’s economic power, Russia’s military and political strength, and Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence. However, Biden’s approach to addressing these challenges differed significantly. but Biden could not add any solutions or new suggestions.

Biden has faced criticism for his handling of crises, especially in the Arab world. His return to a traditional approach has been perceived by some as lacking in proactive solutions. For instance, in the Gaza crisis, where tensions threatened to escalate, Biden’s continued support for Israel without actively seeking solutions to ease the conflict has drawn criticism.

In addition, many American voters view Biden’s handling of the situation at the southern border as his administration’s biggest failure. A poll conducted by Harvard University and published in The Hill showed that 44% of respondents, including 57% of Republicans, nearly half of independents, and around 30% of Democrats, considered allowing the influx of migrants across the border with Mexico as Biden’s biggest failure.
All these factors could not help Biden to regain the people’s confidence, especially in the Middle East after what happened in the Gaza Strip, the Arabs of America got disappointed with Biden’s policy.
The choice of the American electorate will likely bring a lot of frustration to the people of the region because it’s a repeated election that doesn’t nominate a different future from its predecessor.
The decision made by the American voters is anticipated to result in considerable dissatisfaction among the inhabitants of the area. This sense of discontent is attributed to the perception that the electoral process is yielding repetitive results, failing to present a vision for a future that diverges from what has been experienced under previous administrations.
The electorate’s selection seems to reflect a cycle of continuity rather than change, leading to a sentiment that the political landscape remains static, with little to no evolution in policies or leadership that might otherwise invigorate or redirect the nation’s trajectory.
Consequently, this situation may foster a feeling of disillusionment or exasperation for those who are yearning for significant transformation or who believe that the status quo is not adequately addressing the challenges and opportunities facing the region.
