Of Covid-19 , lockdown and the sense of helplessness !

The Universe as a whole and planet Earth, a tiny part of it are there by some primordial laws or according to the Will of an Unknown Intelligence. Newton noticed, named and explained the Law of Gravity, not that it was not there anytime before him or would not have been there had he not observed it ! Frankly, can science invent anything which is not already there except for fiddling with permutation and combination of limited known laws without knowing its relationship to the Whole, in the name of technological inventions like the proverbial blind man trying to figure out an elephant ? What science does is to explain a miniscule part of the whole and we start patting our backs for that ! It’s not to deny where credit is duly deserved. But the fruits of the pure mind of scientists have been hijacked in the name of technological innovations by Nations to gain a competitive edge or by MNCs to make profit even out of sufferings of people !!

We speak of this world as a global village and act in the most sectarian, selfish way possible, justifying our actions in the name of patriotism or profit for the stakeholders. With all this duplicity, double standards and treachery built into our systems how can we feel safe or be at peace !!

The temples are closed and the scientific minds start ridiculing God, not knowing that they refer to a God who is anything but a projection of their limited half backed minds !

No wonder, a mere virus has brought down Mankind to its knees!!

‘Alpa Vidya bhankari’ is an age-old saying which we seem to be subscribing blindly to

be woken up of our stupor by just a virus !

So much about the invincibility of the first citizens of planet Earth scurrying for self-preservation !

Covid-19 is perhaps a warning to mend our ways and come out of the mindset that we have an irrevocable license to plunder Mother Earth for our selfish gains!
