The journey of Mahabahu as an Assamese fortnightly magazine began in the year 1980.

The magazine housed valuable writings by eminent personalities: Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Jatindra Kumar Borgohain, Surendra Nath Medhi (Sourabh Kumar Chaliha), Kanaksen Deka and many more.

Then, in 2017, the magazine was metamorphosed and designed into a website – a bi-lingual platform with write-ups in English and Assamese – to be a part of the digital world to spread and connect with a larger audience across the globe.

This digital version of Mahabahu has been widely accepted and appreciated by the readers not only from India, but countries like Ukraine, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iran, Myanmar to name a few.

With the unwavering support and commitment for years, today, from September 16, 2023, the voyage of Mahabahu English Fortnightly – both in the print and digital version – is all set to sail under the editorship of Ms Kakali Das.

The magazine promises to capture stories, news, content which are crucial to humanity and its survival. Thus, with its emergence, we are immensely hopeful to receive the same amount of acceptance and appreciation for the Mahabahu English Fortnightly Magazine too.
